Personally, I did not really believe the plane was being cleaned as announced by the gate agent. She simply used the word cleaned vs. the commonly used groomed. But the CLEANING ANNOUNCEMENT made the results of my wipe down way more fun. My pleasures in life are simple.
OMG, this dirty swab of fabric is from the plane? I think I may be sick. What type of cloth do you use to get this disgustingness off? *Don't hold out on me here, I am flying in a month!
Hand sanitizer and tissue. Lots of it. I wipe down the arm rests, the head rest, the seat belt, the window shade and the table tray. If I have any sanitizer left, I wipe down the person sitting next to me. I use a special wipe for the touch screen entertainment unit. Please take a picture of your seat surroundings. I am curious to see the results.
I may be too horrified of what I will find! The flight is at 12am - that is a full day of sweaty gross people. Not that I think the airlines ever clean the seats like this! I will do my best - thanks for the how to.
Three verifiable things about me. One. I am an only child. The concept of sharing, therefore, is foreign to me. Two. I am a Virgo. The sign regarded as a perfectionist. Three. My mother raised me to be meticulously clean; compulsively tidy. According to my mother, "You have taken this clean thing way too far." I disagree. Apologies to my mother.
Nature or nurture? Who knows? Who cares? I have not been diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Nor would I label myself a Cleanaholic. Or a Germaphobe. My world though, is definitely a unique place. One where doors open magically. Hotel mattresses are pristine. And estheticians never double dip.
I live in this world without a bubble or a honeycomb mask. About 15 years ago I got tired of catching the flu du jour and became ever more so hygienically vigilant -- perhaps obsessively so.
